BIG HAMMOCK RACE SERIES
Marion County Halloween Run is the 1st Super Race in the Big Hammock Race Series! Move one step closer to earning incredible bling and huge points by participating in our race! The Big Hammock Race Series is a 10 race series throughout North and Central Florida that allows runners/walkers of all levels to earn prizes and perks as they work to complete their fitness challenge. This year long series gives participants the ability to challenge themselves by acquiring points based on their race finish time &/or simply complete each race at their own pace to achieve series prizes. ABOUT THE RACE
The Paddock Mall will be hosting Marion County's second annual Halloween Run. This event will include a chip timed 5k and a 10k. The 10k will start at 4:00 p.m. and the 5k will start at 4:15 p.m. This race is race #4 in the Big Hammock Race Series and the first Super Race in the Series. Register at www.itsyourrace.com.
The proceeds from the race will help benefit the Marion County Children's Alliance. The Marion County Children's Alliance mission is to improve the lives of Marion County children by providing resources which enable nonprofit organizations serving these children to operate more effectively and by providing safe, effective services of the highest quality. The race will have a gun start and chip finish. Awards provided for the top 3 male and top 3 female participants in each of the following age groups:
8 & Under 30 - 34 60 - 64
9 - 12 35 - 39 65 - 69
13- 15 40 - 44 70 - 74
16 - 20 45 - 49 75 - 79
21 - 24 50 - 54 80+
25 - 29 55 - 59 Masters & Overall
Early packet pick-up will be on Friday, October 25th from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Belk Court. Race day packet pick-up will start at 2 p.m.
This is a fun race for all ages and we encourage you to dress in costume as there will be a costume contest. The best costume gets a prize!
